Winter Spring

It has been an exceptionally mild winter and now it appears an early Spring had sprung, while technically it is still Winter.

The following images were taken yesterday afternoon and this morning:

Here is comparison of this time, from the last winter we spent onboard, in 2014:

Launch 2015

We hauled out for the first time in 8 years to service the bottom.
All done, tomorrow is the day we go afloat and back to normal…..

Out the window

Difficult to capture how one feels when living so intimately close to the “wild outdoors” – or, to what is just directly on the other side of the cabin windows…. DSCF4774

Nice mid July weekend

Got the primo spot on the new dock at Bobcaygeon Saturday morning and stayed till Monday. Was a very nice weekend, lots of swimming and the sun felt so good on my back. Very hot days and more in the forecast.
Just to put a small dent into the weekend; we had a “drop-in” visit from a Facebook “friend”, whom I hope to never see again, he can keep the money he borrowed. (We are going to implement a lot tighter Facebook exposures from now on….)

The canal cruise boat Kawartha Voyageur plies these waters and the Rideau canals to Ottawa.

Here is a short flight video I did:

‘caygeon spring

Bobcaygeon in spring, beautiful days! We had 26º C in the shade all afternoon!

Last night’s sunset gave way to intense storms but we did not have a “Squall Warning”, which we did tonight. It has gone through, and all is well.
